Covenant Affirmations

As an Evangelical Covenant Church, we seek to form and nurture communities that are deeply committed to Jesus Christ and passionately engaged in Christ’s mission in the world. The purpose of Covenant Affirmations is to make clear the values and principles that have guided the Evangelical Covenant Church since its founding in 1885.
Click To read Our Covenant Affirmations
In the Covenant, we affirm:
  1. The centrality of the word of God,
  2. The necessity of the new birth,
  3. A commitment to the whole mission of the Church,
  4. The Church as a fellowship of believers,
  5. A conscious dependence on the Holy Spirit, and
  6. The reality of freedom in Christ.
These are the affirmations that tie us together in wonderful tension and give us a framework for our common ministry. They give us valuable grounding as we join God in God’s mission to reach more people among more populations in a more caring and just world. Our affirmations root us in our communal life together and enable us to wholeheartedly pursue God’s mission, while holding us to the essentials of our faith.

Become a Member

Membership is an expression of deeper participation in the life of Community Covenant Church.
It is an active partnership with the church for those who desire to offer themselves as the hands and feet of Jesus in Christian community. It provides you with greater ownership of our ministry by allowing you to have a voice in decision-making at our church. If you are interested in community with us, attendance at a Pastors' Reception or Next Steps: Membership class is a good first step. Contact Sarah Pace for dates, questions, or if you would like to schedule a meeting with a pastor to further explore membership.
