Community Covenant Homeschoolers
Community Covenant Homeschoolers is comprised of families who consider Community Covenant their church home and are educating their children at home. Our purpose is to provide fellowship and ministry opportunities for these families and encourage membership and participation in the Eagle River Christian Homeschooling Association*(ERCHA).
Brown Bag Lunches
Held on Fridays, usually once a month and most often at Community Covenant Church. They are from Noon until 2:00pm, unless otherwise noted in the schedule below. Bring a packed lunch for your family to eat at Noon in the library or join us at 12:30pm for recitation, games and fellowship.
Recitations
A time for students to share a project, recite a piece of memory work or music they are working on. Students may also bring art work, projects, reports, etc., to display. We welcome pre-elementary siblings to bring an item from home to show-and-tell from time to time to get used to sharing.
Games
There will be organized large movement games, as well as a time for age groups to play board games or have free play. For our special events (Christmas and Valentine's Day) we generally make it a potluck complete with holiday games, crafts or exchanges.
We also strive to take on a couple of service projects each year. These have included washing all the church's classroom chairs, reaching out to the sick and needy with handmade cards or cookies, making wordless books for an African mission, and more.
At the end of the year, we celebrate with a Mom's (and Dad's) Lunch Out ~ This is a chance for parents to celebrate the year's accomplishments and fellowship together at a local restaurant. No kids.
All ages are welcome.
This is a time for the whole family to fellowship; no drop-offs please. When we are meeting at church, church business and appointments should be conducted before, after or at another time.

*ERCHA ~ Eagle River Christian Homeschool Association provides homeschool support in the Eagle River/Chugiak area. They meet the third Tuesday of each month during the school year at Eagle River Grace Church. Each meeting covers a different aspect of homeschooling, networking with other homeschoolers and potentially some activities for the younger set.
